About Us

Usevya Development Society (UDESO) is a grassroots, non-profit and non-governmental organisation based in Usevya, Katavi. Officially registered on 23 September 2005 under the NGO Act No. 24 of 2002, UDESO works across social, economic and environmental development issues. Its approach is community-centred, focusing on empowering communities and building partnerships to promote sustainable development.

What We Do

UDESO works with communities, government institutions, civil society organisations and development partners to address social, economic and environmental challenges affecting rural communities. Our work focuses on strengthening livelihoods and reducing poverty, improving health, water and sanitation, supporting education and youth empowerment, promoting human rights and good governance, protecting the environment, and strengthening community capacity. Through community participation, skills development, advocacy and partnerships, we support people to identify local priorities, develop practical solutions and build the knowledge, skills and resilience needed to improve their wellbeing and sustain positive change.
