Empowering Communties. Transforming Lives
We value efforts that aims to contribute to community development
We believe in recognizing and appreciating the efforts of those who contribute to community development. Every action, big or small, plays a role in creating a stronger, more inclusive environment. By valuing these contributions, we encourage collective growth and inspire others to take part in building a better future together.

Our Mission
UDESO’s mission is to facilitate community development through exploration of resources within the society.

Our Vision
UDESO’s vision is to become an excellent center for community development.
Our history
The Usevya Development Society (UDESO) began as a community-based initiative formed by a small group of people in Usevya Ward who came together to help the community — contributing items such as clothing, food, and other necessities — after realizing that some people and children were living in difficult conditions. They saw this as an opportunity to offer assistance.
Later on, the organization continued to grow, and it was decided that it should be formally registered so it could operate officially, have the capacity to apply for funding both locally and internationally, and also collaborate with the government, as working with the government is essential.
UDESO was therefore officially registered on September 23, 2005, and on September 23, 2025, it will be celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Our strategy
Our Five Year Strategic Plan (2023-2027) serves as a direction, focus, framework, and benchmark for UDESO’s activities over the five years. The strategy incorporates five core strategic objectives focused on institutional strengthening, enhancing good governance and accountability, increasing resource mobilization and fundraising, improving Good working relationships with partners and government, and reducing vulnerable community groups
What people say
We thank UDESO and our fellow community members for giving us the opportunity to work on their behalf, particularly in gathering information to track public expenditure. We also extend our gratitude to FCS for recognizing the importance of PETS and funding UDESO to implement the project. We promise to work in accordance with the skills, knowledge, and awareness we gained during the five-day training. We hope that our efforts will contribute to community development by promoting accountability and transparency among public servants.Mr. Michael KipetaPETS Committee Chairperson, Usevya village
PETS is not a new term in our workplaces, and I personally became familiar with it a few years ago. It is not intended to cause redundancy among public servants, but rather to track public expenditure with the aim of determining whether available resources are being effectively utilized to achieve the desired outcomes. Therefore, I kindly urge all responsible public servants to cooperate with UDESO and the PETS Committee members during the implementation of this project for the development of our district and nation.

I thank you all for your voluntary contributions that helped our fellow PETS Committee member, Ms. Rahel Kuzenza, acquire a new smartphone. I hope this smartphone will be helpful to Ms. Rahel, enabling her to access information from around the world and to report any concerns related to gender-based violence. As you can see, the condition of our fellow Committee member is serious—she has the use of only one hand. Therefore, I kindly ask you to offer her your full cooperation in all activities whenever necessary, even before she requests your assistance.
