About us
Usevya Development Society (UDESO) is a grassroots, non-profit and non-governmental organisation rooted in Usevya, Katavi. Founded as a community initiative to support people and children in need, UDESO was formally registered on 23 September 2005 and has since grown into an organisation addressing social, economic and environmental challenges. Today, UDESO works with communities, government institutions and development partners to strengthen local capacity, promote sustainable livelihoods and support communities to lead lasting change.

From supporting vulnerable communities and strengthening livelihoods to improving access to essential services and promoting environmental conservation, our work focuses on practical solutions that respond to local needs. Our strategy
UDESO’s Five-Year Strategic Plan (2023–2027) provides direction, focus, and a framework for the organisation’s work. It also serves as a benchmark for assessing progress and guiding programme implementation.
The strategy focuses on five objectives: strengthening institutional capacity; promoting good governance and accountability; increasing resource mobilisation and fundraising; building constructive partnerships with government and other stakeholders; and reducing the vulnerability of disadvantaged and at-risk communities.
