A just society begins with ending violence and promoting dignity for all
Promoting human rights and good governance
As a community-focused civil society organization, UDESO is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive environment for all. We work to address human rights violations, including Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Violence Against Children (VAC), while advocating for the rights of people with disabilities, women, and children in the region. We value every effort that contributes to strengthening community development and protecting the dignity of every individual.
GBV and VAC have remained systemic challenges that hinder social and economic progress. UDESO believes that sustainable development is achievable only when gender equality is upheld and when vulnerable groups are protected and empowered. Through awareness campaigns, advocacy, and community engagement, we aim to break the cycles of violence and discrimination that limit opportunities for women, children, and marginalized groups.
In the Katavi region, GBV and VAC have been identified as major factors contributing to women’s dependency on men, restricting girls from reaching their full potential, and slowing progress toward a more equitable society. By promoting human rights, strengthening governance systems, and building community capacity, UDESO strives to create a region where equality, justice, and opportunity are accessible to all.
