About UDESO

Who We Are?

Usevya Development Society abbreviated as UDESO is a grassroot, non-governmental and non-profit organization established and registered in 23rd September, 2005 under NGO Act of 2002 made under section 12 (2) of Act. No. 24 of 2002.

As non-profit and Non-Governmental Organization we are working towards driving social-economic change (community development) from the grassroots level. With a focus on sustainable and inclusive community development, we work collaboratively and in partnership with the government throught its institutions, other CSOs, dedicated development partners as well as community to improving living standards of the communityand create lasting impact.

UDESO's Mission

Our mission towards achieving community development is to facilitate Community Development through exploration of resources within the society.

UDESO's Vision

Our vision towards achieving community development is to become an excellent center for Community Development.

Our strategic objectives

In working towards achieving our mission, we focus on the following objectives;

  1. To promote human rights and gender equality to the community to address various violations such like Violations against Women and Children (VAWC), Gender based Violence (GBV) while paying special attention to the disadvantaged groups, such as women, children, youth and elders through accessible, affordable, readily available.
  2. To Promoting climate action and making community resilient to hazardous of climate change such that establishing the climate – resilient water governance and environment management.
  3. To promote community health and hygiene on reproductive health, HIV/AIDS and sanitation management.
  4. To promote self-reliance spirit among youth, women, small scale farmers and disable on sustainable income generation, vocational and environmental management skills.
  5. Promoting good governance through improving accountability, transparency of CBO’s, local government and other development actors in rural communities.
  6. Promoting economic growth in rural communities through income generating activities.
